Individual Health Insurance is designed for families and individuals who are not covered with their employers or self-employed. Anyone can apply for individual health insurance, but all applicants are subject to medical eligibility requirements. Therefore, you must be relatively healthy to qualify. As a result rates are generally lower than group policies. If you do not qualify for an individual plan, there are other options.
